What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
I think having good communication skills is such a vital part of being a great physio so we can connect and adapt to the individual in front of us and help us get you back to full fitness or even better than where you started. I love working on educating others to create positive changes for improving your quality of life.
Favourite Conditions to Treat:
Shoulder and knee injuries – from my elite swimming background I’ve had plenty of personal experience with these injuries and then professionally I enjoy rehabbing clients back to top form with a problem solving and evidence based approach. I also really enjoy working with breast cancer patients and getting ladies back to function and growing their confidence!
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
At the beach, swimming in the sea, riding my bike or hiking up a mountain. Hopefully can add skiing down one to the list!
What would be your personal motto?
Nothing can’t be fixed over a cup of tea
Who is someone you admire and why?
Ahmed Kelly – an Australian paralympic swimmer who I had the pleasure of training with a few times. He has such an infectious positive attitude and helps others to believe they can try out for their goals despite difficult challenges and a very tough start in life. And because I couldn’t pick one I have to add David Attenborough – I’m obsessed! The man is a legend!
Your most-outstanding achievement:
Conquering my fear of deep water and becoming a qualified scuba diver.
