Hi, I’m Amy — a physiotherapist with a genuine passion for helping people move, feel, and live better. I love working in Rusutsu and have a special interest in supporting patients through snow-related and acute musculoskeletal injuries. With a background in sports injury clinics, I bring a friendly, energetic, and confidence-building approach to rehab. I focus on what you can do, empowering you to take positive steps forward from day one. Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me out on the slopes, soaking up the mountains. My travel and life experiences help me connect easily with people from all walks of life, making each patient journey personal and meaningful. I’m excited to meet you and help you get back to what you love most.

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
I am an active, go-get-’em person who has played sports all her life, which allows me an in-depth understanding of how amazing our bodies are, but also how frustrating injuries can be. I am compassionate and caring and really enjoy getting people back to what they love. My experience working with acute and chronic sporting injuries, as well as managing my own, has equipped me with the knowledge to treat and manage these conditions.
Favourite Conditions to Treat:
Ankles and knees are my favourites, but I also love working with neck and back pain. My personal experiences with ankle and knee ligamentous and tendon injuries have shown me the frustrations and fun aspects of rehabilitation programs.
Understanding how debilitating neck and back pain can be, makes these conditions very important to me to treat well, and with empathy. I find it very rewarding when I can encourage and show my patients what they CAN do, not just what they cannot.
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
Anything outdoors! Chasing sunshine, adventure, a new mountain to climb or good food… often all at once!
What would be your personal motto?
Have courage, be kind, and just have a go!
Who is someone you admire and why?
My parents. They immigrated from South Africa and set me up with a wonderful life in Australia. They are fit and healthy and have abilities well beyond their years. I aspire to be like my parents one day.
Your most-outstanding achievement:
Hiking the Overland Track in Tasmania last year – 8 days of hiking, carrying everything we need. We summited 5 different mountains over the 8 days, including Tasmania’s tallest (Mount Ossa)!
