I am a registered physiotherapist from Sydney, Australia. I was born in Kobe, Japan to a Japanese mother and Australian father, and have known all my life that I wanted to live and work in Japan to connect to my Japanese heritage. I believe exercise is the best medicine for any condition and allows people to take ownership of their health. This belief has reflected in my practice in aged care, where I’ve developed a passion for mobility rehabilitation with movement-based therapy, including hydrotherapy and gym-based resistance exercise. With extensive experience in assessing and treating acute musculoskeletal injuries, I like to emphasise a holistic, collaborative approach to treatment to provide patient-centred care. I love working as a team and problem-solving to deliberate the most effective treatment plans for my patients.

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
I like to come to work every day with an open mind and a positive attitude. I am passionate about patient-physiotherapist collaboration and strive towards working together to achieve meaningful goals for my clients. I emphasise education for my patients so that they are empowered with understanding of their condition so they can capably navigate their road to recovery.
Favourite Conditions to Treat:
Anything that challenges me to think outside the box.
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
Playing soccer, eating at new places, and travelling.
What would be your personal motto?
You are the creator of your own happiness!
Who is someone you admire and why?
My partner – after sustaining an ACL injury at only 11 years old, he was told by doctors that he would never be able to play sports again – now, he skis, surfs, runs, gyms, cycles, does martial arts, and more. He then ruptured his other ACL in December 2024 and rehabbed it in only 7 months. His dedication and resilience to go to the gym 6 days a week without fail, educate himself on how to optimise his recovery, and follow a strict diet for optimal nutrition, was inspiring to me.
Your most-outstanding achievement:
Professionally, successfully rehabbing several wheelchair-bound patients to be able to walk independently. Personally, passing the N1 Japanese test last year!
